Rando’s timestretch engine works great for tonal and sustained material, but it introduces artifacts on rhythmic loops during significant tempo changes.
Would be great adding an alternative tempo method based on automatic transient slicing (similar to Reason ReCycle). Instead of stretching audio continuously, slices would be replayed at the target tempo without stretching between them.
Since Rando already includes slice functionality, this could potentially build on the existing slicing engine by adding a playback mode where slices are tempo-synced rather than time-stretched.
This would preserve transients and improve quality for drum loops and groove-based material while keeping the current timestretch engine for sustained sounds.
Thanks for considering 🙂
